Education is an important tool to help reach a better future. Our children are our most valuable resource and it is important that we invest in them.

• Raise Teacher Pay - Teacher pay in Virginia is below the national average. For us to retain our quality teachers, especially with our high cost of living, we must raise their pay to at least meet the national average.
• Early Education - Early education programs have proven to increase the success rates of students at later stages of their life. Other states, like Oklahoma, have seen a great increase in students’ grades and overall performance thanks to strong pre-kindergarten and head start programs.
• Stop Unfunded Mandates - Unfunded state mandates impose an extremely significant burden for schools. We cannot continue to enact policies requiring schools to make major changes without giving them the funding required to do it. Unfunded mandates result in layoffs and pay cuts for our much needed teachers and staff.
• Better Teacher to Student Ratio - Studies have shown that personal attention from teachers results in a higher student performance.
