Economic Development

Virginia has been rated one of the best states for business and we need to continue to keep it that way through pro-active and forward thinking policy. We must also ensure that our citizens have ample economic opportunity to help them provide for their families.

As someone who’s spent his whole life in our area, Ward Armstrong is committed to improving the economy here. Ward believes that every Southside and Southwest Virginian should be able to find a good job. He is dedicated to bringing good, high-paying jobs to this region by obtaining more leads on potential employers from Richmond, and by securing money for worker retraining. He also is committed to the creation of an Economic Disaster Task Force that would assist communities faced with declining employment. He will continue his fight to increase the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to help bring new jobs to the area, finish Route 58, and help companies like Stanley Furniture and Vaughan-Bassett Furniture expand their operations here.
